| It is the will of God that you should lead a life of sanctity. You must refrain from sexual immorality. Each of you must learn to acquire a wife from pure and honorable motives, not to gratify passion like the Gentiles who do not know God. | For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God. |

| For the love of Christ urges us forward, once we conclude that one has died for all, and therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for him who for their sakes died and was raised to life. | For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died. He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again. |

| No weapon used against you will prevail, and you will refute every accusation that is raised in court against you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, their vindication from me, says the Lord. | “No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh. |
| Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it. | Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. |
| And so does kindness, O Lord. You reward each person in accordance with his deeds. | Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work. |
| Exhort slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give them satisfaction in every respect. They are not to talk back to them, nor are they to steal from them. Rather, they should show themselves to be completely trustworthy so that in every way they may add luster to the doctrine of God our Savior. | Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters and to be well-pleasing in all things, not contradicting, not stealing, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things. |

| Entrust your cares to the Lord, and he will uphold you; he will never allow the righteous to waver. | Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. |
| O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, filled with kindness for all who cry to you. | For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you. |
| If you heed the voice of the Lord, your God, and you carefully observe all of the commandments that I have given you today, then the Lord, your God, will lift you up above all the other nations upon the earth. | It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. |
| By these he has given us his precious promises, great beyond all price, so that through them you may escape from the corruption with which evil desires have infected the world and thereby may come to share in the divine nature. | By which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. |
| Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?” | Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see God’s glory?” |
| Honor your father and your mother so that your days may be lengthened in the land that the Lord your God, will give you. | Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. |
