May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel. | Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. |
He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? | He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? |

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. | For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. |
Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name. | Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. |
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.” | Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. |
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. | Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. |
We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds. | We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth. |
Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you. | Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. |
Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men! | Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! |
Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. | Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. |
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God. | As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. |
I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever. | I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. |
He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. | He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. |
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own. | But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. |
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you! | Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. |
Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you. | Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. |
Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. | Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. |
I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. | I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. |
With my whole heart I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments. | With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. |
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. | Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. |
Save us now, we beg you, Yahweh! Yahweh, we beg you, send prosperity now. Blessed is he who comes in Yahweh’s name! We have blessed you out of Yahweh’s house. | Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord. |
But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love. | And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. |
You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm. Therefore Yahweh your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day. | And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. |
Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. | Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. |
For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died. He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again. | For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. |
