Their (4/4)

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious, but fools are consumed by their own lips.
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the Lord detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.”
