I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill. And in the proper season I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessing. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7	Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. trust idols
I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. Colossians 2:2	That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ. But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers. 1 Timothy 5:8	But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. family relationships children
But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth. Psalm 34:16	The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. evil sin
And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. Exodus 1:21	And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. awe blessing
And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. 1 John 4:21	And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. law love friendship
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19	To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. sin salvation Jesus
Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. Isaiah 55:7	Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. righteousness conversion forgiveness
Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent. Proverbs 17:28	Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. speaking wisdom mind
Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. Proverbs 30:5	Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. truth Word of God protection
You must not exploit a widow or an orphan. If you exploit them in any way and they cry out to me, then I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will blaze against you, and I will kill you with the sword. Then your wives will be widows and your children fatherless. Exodus 22:22-24	Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry; And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless. widows orphans
Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words. Ecclesiastes 10:12	The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. speaking wisdom
Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions. Proverbs 18:2	A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. speaking wisdom selfishness
The rich can pay a ransom for their lives, but the poor won’t even get threatened. Proverbs 13:8	The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. money materialism fear
Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign Lord. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live. Ezekiel 18:23	Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? conversion life death
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11	He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. creation understanding life
The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces. Proverbs 10:8	The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. law wisdom heart
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalm 37:23	The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. serving obedience trust
Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life. Ecclesiastes 5:18	Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. food work life
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7	Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. honesty life patience
People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. Proverbs 14:29	He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. wisdom patience understanding
