He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses. Now, if you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, you will be my own possession from among all the peoples, for the entire earth is mine. Therefore, take care to live as intelligent people, and do not be like those who are senseless. Make the most of the present time, for this is a wicked age. For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1	Having therefore these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. purification holiness awe
Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment. 2 Peter 2:9	Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment. temptation judgment punishment
As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Colossians 3:12	Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance. humility gentleness patience

Because the sentence for committing an evil act is not carried out quickly, people’s hearts are prone to act wickedly. Ecclesiastes 8:11	Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. sin heart punishment

For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin. Romans 3:20	Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. sin law righteousness

So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober. 1 Thessalonians 5:6	So then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober. safety self-control end times
