| As we proceed in the path of your judgments, we wait for you, O Lord; your name and your renown are all that our heart desires. | Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. |

| Dispose my heart to follow your statutes and to flee selfish gain. | Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money! |
| Even though I wander through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are at my side, with your rod and your staff that comfort me. | Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. |
| As for me, I trust in your kindness; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord because he has been good to me. | But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me. |
| We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws. | But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. |
| May he give you your heart’s desire and grant you success in all your plans. | May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. |
| But I will sing of your strength; when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness. For you have been my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. | But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. |
| Trust wholeheartedly in the Lord rather than relying on your own intelligence. In everything you do, acknowledge him, and he will see that your paths are straight. | Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. |
| Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself; thus my lips will speak your praise. I will bless you all my life; with uplifted hands I will call on your name. | Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. |

Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord.’ |
| When my anxious thoughts multiplied, your comfort filled my soul with joy. | When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. |

| I rejoice in following your statutes more than I would rejoice in endless riches. | I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches. |
| Remember your Creator in the days of your youth before the bad times come and the years draw near when you will say, “I take no pleasure in them”. | Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” |
| Those who love your law have great peace; they encounter no stumbling blocks. | Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. |
| Guard your heart with all possible vigilance, for from it flow the wellsprings of life. | Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. |
