| But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. | Those who place their hope in the Lord will regain their strength. They will soar as with eagles’ wings, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not become faint. |
| But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. | However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die. |
| Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven. | Nevertheless, do not rejoice in the knowledge that the spirits are subject to you. Rejoice rather that your names are inscribed in heaven. |
| Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. | The proud man’s heart is not upright, but the righteous man will live because of his faith. |
| The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. | The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever. |
| And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” | Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever.” |
| Whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. | Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls. |
| You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. | You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you. |
| This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. | Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful. |
| Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? | Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard? |
| For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law. | All those who have sinned outside the Law will perish outside the Law, and all who sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law. |
| By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches and honor and life. | The reward of humility and fear of the Lord is wealth, honor, and life. |
| Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. | Shun evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. |
| And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good? | And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good. |
| Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. | When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you. |
| Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. | Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. |
| That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love. | I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. |
| And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. | And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. |
| “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” | “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” |
| So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. | Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. |
| You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. | You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. |
| Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. | To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. |
| Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. | Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware. |
| But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. | About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. |
| I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. | I am the gate. Anyone who enters through me will be saved. He will go in and out and will find pasture. |
