Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. | Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. |
But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
|
I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. | I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. |
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. | My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. |
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. | And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. |
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. | Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. |
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. | Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. |
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. | Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. |
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. | Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. |
Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. | My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. |
Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. | Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. |
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. | But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |
So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord! | Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. |
What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord. | And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. |
Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. | For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. |
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. | For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. |
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” | The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. |
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.” | And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. |
So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. | So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. |
But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. | But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. |
