- How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me,
because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble.
He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and release to those who are bound. - But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name.
- Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
- It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication,
then later to consider his vows. - I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.
- Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
- Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death, and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.
- Yahweh is near to all those who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.
- Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice. - He has shown you, O man, what is good.
What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly,
to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? - Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left.
Remove your foot from evil. - For I say through the grace that was given me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.
- Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness,
for you reward every man according to his work. - Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
- Not to us, Yahweh, not to us,
but to your name give glory,
for your loving kindness, and for your truth’s sake. - Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.
- Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in the power of your hand to do it. - Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work.
- He gives power to the weak.
He increases the strength of him who has no might. - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to the whole creation.”
- For of him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.
