| For they said to you, “In the final age there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly passions.” It is these people who create divisions, who follow their natural instincts and do not possess the Spirit. | They said to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.” These are those who cause divisions and are sensual, not having the Spirit. |
| Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my heavenly Father. | Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. |

| He who guards his mouth makes his life secure, but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. | He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. |
| He said to them in reply, “Anyone who has two coats must share with the person who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise.” | He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.” |

| Bless those who persecute you; bless them and do not curse them. | Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse. |
| Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. | For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. |
