| No one has ever seen God. It is the only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, who has made him known. | No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him. |

| Instruct those who are rich in this world’s goods that they should not be proud, nor should they trust in the uncertainty of riches but rather in God who richly provides us with everything we need for our enjoyment. | Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. |
| And opens the eyes of those who cannot see. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. | Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind. Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down. Yahweh loves the righteous. |
| How great is your goodness, O Lord, which you have stored up for those who fear you and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you, in the presence of all the people. | Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men! |
