| The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. | Yahweh redeems the soul of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him shall be condemned. |
| And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. | No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy. | He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. |
| In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. | I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance. |
| But whoever endures to the end will be saved. | But he who endures to the end will be saved. |
| Be strong and courageous in your hearts, all you who place your hope in the Lord. | Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in Yahweh. |
| Everyone who sins breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness. | Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness. |
| To those who seek after glory and honor and immortality by persevering in good works, he will grant eternal life. | To those who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life. |
| Because I delivered the poor who appealed for help and the orphan who had no one to protect him. The blessing of the wretched was given to me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. | Because I delivered the poor who cried, and the fatherless also, who had no one to help him, the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. |
| Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life, but anyone who rejects correction goes astray. | He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray. |
| If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwells in you. | But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. |
| Whoever observes the commandments will live, but the one who scorns them will die. | He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die. |
| And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who are peacemakers. | Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. |
| The one who leads a blameless life and does what is right, who speaks the truth from the heart and does not slander anyone, who does not harm a friend and does not scorn a neighbor. | He who walks blamelessly and does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart; he who doesn’t slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man. |
| Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not my own; rather, it comes from him who sent me.” | Jesus therefore answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.” |
| But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near through the blood of Christ. | But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. |
| Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. | Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love him. |
| He will not permit your foot to stumble; he who guards you will not fall asleep. | He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. |
| Who has performed these deeds and accomplished this? Who has summoned the nations from the beginning? I, the Lord, am the first, and I will be there with the last. | Who has worked and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Yahweh, the first, and with the last, I am he. |
