Who then can separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or the sword? | Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? |
Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things. | For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. |
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. | Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. |
Indeed, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” | For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” |
The Lord abhors lying lips, but he delights in those who are truthful. | Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. |
Every word of God has proved to be true; he is a shield to those who trust in him. | Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. |
All those who have sinned outside the Law will perish outside the Law, and all who sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law. | For as many as have sinned without the law will also perish without the law. As many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. |
Make every effort to present yourself before God as one who is worthy of his approval, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, but who imparts the word of truth without any alteration. | Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth. |
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will have their fill. | Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. |
One who finds a wife finds happiness and receives favor from the Lord. | Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. |
Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.” | Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” |
