What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah | Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. |

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. | Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. |
Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; do not fret over those who prosper in their way, over those who carry out evil devices. | Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. |
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first. | But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first. |
Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives; those who open wide their lips come to ruin. | He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. |
Deceit is in the mind of those who plan evil, but those who counsel peace have joy. | Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. |
But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. |
It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice. | A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. |
Those who are attentive to a matter will prosper, and happy are those who trust in the Lord. | He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. |
And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. | So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. |
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. | Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. |
And it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. | I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. |
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. | Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. |
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. | I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. |
Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. | Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. |
One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city. | He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. |
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. | Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. |
For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. | For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. |
Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. | And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. |
But when he heard this, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” | But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. |
But the one who endures to the end will be saved. | But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. |
They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them. | He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. |
In reply he said to them, “Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.” | He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. |
Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. | Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. |
