| Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. | Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. |
| Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of peace. | Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts that are planning peace! |
| He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out. | People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed. |
| Because I delivered the poor who cried, and the fatherless also, who had no one to help him, the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. | For I assisted the poor in their need and the orphans who required help. | Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. | Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. |
