- But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
- For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.” - This also comes from the Lord of hosts;
he is wonderful in counsel
and excellent in wisdom. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever! - Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- Whoever gets sense loves his own soul;
he who keeps understanding will discover good. - Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
- Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter. - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
- That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him.
- When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit. - For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.
- To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - Do not toil to acquire wealth;
be discerning enough to desist. - Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. - You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand supported me,
and your gentleness made me great.
You gave a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip. - And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.
- Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
- The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple. - In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
hold not your peace at my tears!
For I am a sojourner with you,
a guest, like all my fathers.Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.Next verse!With image
