- Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:
and with all thy getting get understanding. - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
- I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth. - God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. - For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
- When pride cometh, then cometh shame:
but with the lowly is wisdom. - How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!
and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! - Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding. - For the Lord giveth wisdom:
out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. - Labour not to be rich:
cease from thine own wisdom. - Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not;
neither decline from the words of my mouth. - For I the Lord thy God
will hold thy right hand,
saying unto thee, Fear not;
I will help thee. - I have taught thee in the way of wisdom;
I have led thee in right paths. - He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. - Only by pride cometh contention:
but with the well advised is wisdom. - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
- For in much wisdom is much grief:
and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. - Because I delivered the poor that cried,
and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.
The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me:
and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. - Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of thy name:
and deliver us, and purge away our sins,
for thy name's sake. - Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul:
he that keepeth understanding shall find good. - The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;
and before honour is humility.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.Next verse!With image
