- For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established; that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- Commit your way to Yahweh.
Trust also in him, and he will do this:
he will make your righteousness shine out like light,
and your justice as the noon day sun. - Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted.
- Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope.
- So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
- I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.
- Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
- For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.
- For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.
- It is better to take refuge in Yahweh,
than to put confidence in man. - The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted,
to proclaim release to the captives,
recovering of sight to the blind,
to deliver those who are crushed. - Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
- Who “will pay back to everyone according to their works.”
- Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
- Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
- The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me,
because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble.
He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and release to those who are bound. - But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name.
- Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
- Yahweh is near to all those who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication,
then later to consider his vows. - Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.
