| After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. | This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’ |
| Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. | Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. |

| But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. | Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. |
| For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. | For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. |
| If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. | If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. |
| And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. | Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. |
| My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. | In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. |
| Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. |
| And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. | Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. |
| Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. | Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! |
| For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. | We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. |
| For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. | A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night. |
| Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. | You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. |
| If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. | Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. |
| And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. | I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them. |
| But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. | Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. |
| Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. | Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. |
| Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. | Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. |
| For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. | For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. |
| Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. | Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. |
| I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. | I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. |
| For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. | For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” |
| Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. | The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. |
| He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. | Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” |
| Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. | Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. |
