- A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
- Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
- “Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil.
- You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child. If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry; and my wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
- A fool shows his annoyance the same day,
but one who overlooks an insult is prudent. - So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
- He who is slow to anger has great understanding,
but he who has a quick temper displays folly. - ‘Return, you backsliding Israel,’ says Yahweh; ‘I will not look in anger on you, for I am merciful,’ says Yahweh. ‘I will not keep anger forever.’
- Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh’s anger.
- Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
