YOUR SPIRIT (3/4)

  • Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
  • So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
  • With my soul I have desired You in the night,
    Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early;
    For when Your judgments are in the earth,
    The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
  • And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.
  • For thus says the High and Lofty One
    Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
    “I dwell in the high and holy place,
    With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
    To revive the spirit of the humble,
    And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
  • A talebearer reveals secrets,
    But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.
  • Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
  • Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
  • There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
  • Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
  • That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.
  • Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,
    And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
    And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.
  • But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
  • Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
  • For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
  • Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
  • But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
  • For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
  • That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
  • But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
  • Turn at my rebuke;
    Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
    I will make my words known to you.
  • Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
  • Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
  • Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
