YOUR SPIRIT (2/4)

  • A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
  • And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last.
  • I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
  • If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!
  • For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
  • Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
  • Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
  • And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
  • By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
  • Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
  • I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
  • I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
  • A man’s pride will bring him low,
But the humble in spirit will retain honor.
  • And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
  • The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.
  • Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
  • Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  • And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.
  • I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
  • Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
  • This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
    Says the Lord of hosts.
  • Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
  • Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
  • But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
  • How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
