You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.He brought you low, allowing you to suffer from hunger. He then fed you with manna, something with which your fathers were not familiar, so that you might come to know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the Lord.

I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
The Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.And opens the eyes of those who cannot see. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.Place your hope in the Lord: be strong and courageous in your heart, and place your hope in the Lord.
The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.May the Lord grant strength to his people. May the Lord bless his people with peace.
