Bible Verses about Patience

Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.A patient man shows good sense, but a quick-tempered man displays the height of folly.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love is patient; love is charitable. Love is not envious; it does not have an inflated opinion of itself; it is not filled with its own importance. Love is never rude; it does not seek its own advantage. It is not prone to anger; neither does it brood over setbacks.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.Be joyful in your hope. Be patient in times of affliction. Persevere in prayer.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love.
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior, one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.Wait quietly for the Lord and be patient until he comes. Do not fret over the man who prospers because of his evil schemes.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.Place your hope in the Lord: be strong and courageous in your heart, and place your hope in the Lord.
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. The Lord will battle for you. Be calm!
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, as some think in terms of delay, but he is patient with you. It is not his wish that any should perish but rather that all should be brought to repentance.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. For his anger lasts for only a moment, while his goodwill endures for a lifetime. Weeping may last throughout the night, but at daybreak there is rejoicing.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.O Lord, at daybreak you hear my voice; at daybreak I bring my petition before you and await your reply.
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!But even so the Lord is waiting to be gracious to you, and he will rise up to grant you his compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in kindness.
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. But for that very reason I was treated mercifully, so that in me Jesus Christ might exhibit his inexhaustible patience, making me an example for those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.
But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. But whoever endures to the end will be saved.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.But do not ignore this one fact, beloved: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. Therefore, keep watch, for you do not know the day when your Lord is coming.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.Preach the message; be persistent in doing so, whether in season or out of season; convince, reprove, and encourage, but with great patience and instruction.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown.
Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.Rend your hearts and not your garments, and turn back to the Lord, your God. For he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, rich in kindness, and always prepared to relent from punishing.
The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. The hope of the righteous brings them joy, but the expectations of the wicked are frustrated.

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. You need to be steadfast if you want to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
