A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there!
Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.
He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man. For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”

“Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him, because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?”

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.“Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil.
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
