Brethren, if anyone is detected committing a transgression, you who are spiritual must set him right in a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom; fear the Lord and turn your back on evil. This will provide healing for your flesh and restore strength to your body.Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow no opportunity for the flesh to gratify its sinful desires.Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
Do not seek to adorn yourself externally—by the braiding of your hair and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothing. Rather, let your adornment be of your inner self, the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
Turn away from the mouth that deceives and keep your distance from lips that mislead.Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Then Peter asked, “Ananias, why has Satan so gained control of your heart that you lied to the Holy Spirit and retained part of the sale price of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not belong to you? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds yours? What caused you to contrive this scheme? You have lied not to men but to God.”Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”
Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul; one who cherishes understanding will prosper.The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.
It is rash to pledge a sacred gift, or to make a vow and then have second thoughts.It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.

Wash yourselves and become clean; remove your evil deeds far from my sight. Cease to do evil.Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong.
