- Let everything that breathes
offer praise to the Lord.
Alleluia. - The heavens were made by the word of the Lord,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. - He cried out, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” And with these words he breathed his last.
- A truthful witness does not lie,
but a false witness lies incessantly. - I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have life. - I love the Lord because he has heard my voice
and listened to my cry for mercy,
because he has inclined his ear to me
on the day when I called out to him. - Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
the Creator of all. - All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind.
A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life;
a poor man never has to worry about such threats.
