| Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” | Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.” |

| Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. | I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! | I don’t reject the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing! |
| You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. | For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise. |
| So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. | God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. |
| Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name. |

| May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. |
| The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. | He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil. |
| These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. | But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. |
| A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. | A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. |
| Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” | But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’” |
| Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame. | Wake up righteously and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. |
