Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. | And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with his seal for the day of redemption. |
Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. | Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. |
Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up. | Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time. |
Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged. | Do not be afraid or dismayed, the Lord will go before you; he will not fail or forsake you. |
Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. | Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it. |
Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword. | Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword. |
“Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil. | If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening. |
