Eternal life (3/4)

Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life, but anyone who rejects correction goes astray.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served but rather to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.Never will I forget your commands, for through them you have given me life.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.Only goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in abundance.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever.
By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.During the day the Lord grants his kindness, and at night his praise is with me, a prayer to the living God.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.Guard your heart with all possible vigilance, for from it flow the wellsprings of life.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. This is how we know what love is: he laid down his life for us, and we in turn must be prepared to lay down our lives for our brethren.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.God’s love was revealed to us in this way: God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through him.
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid?
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Jesus answered them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself; thus my lips will speak your praise. I will bless you all my life; with uplifted hands I will call on your name.
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus.
My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. My son, do not forget my teaching, but cherish my commandments in your heart, for they will bring you length of days, more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”Jesus addressed them once again, saying, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness. Rather, he will have the light of life.”
Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.Because in my eyes you are precious, because you are honored and I love you, I will give people in exchange for you and nations in return for your life.
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more certain it is that, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. For everything that is in the world— the concupiscence of the flesh, the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life— comes not from the Father but from the world.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world.

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. There is only one thing I ask of the Lord, just one thing I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, so that I may enjoy the beauty of the Lord and gaze on his temple.
