| Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong! | Keep alert; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. |
| So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. | So then, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. |
| But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love. | Thus there are three things that endure: faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love. |
| The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! | The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever. |
