| You who abide in the shelter of the Most High, who rest in the shadow of the Almighty, say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I place my trust.” | Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. | This rather is the type of fast that I wish: to loosen the fetters of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to set free those who are oppressed and to break every yoke. | No, this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people. |
| Indeed, creation itself eagerly awaits the revelation of the children of God. | For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. |
| May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. | May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. |
| May God continue to bless us and be revered to the ends of the earth. | Yes, God will bless us, and people all over the world will fear him. |
