- The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
- The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous run to it and are safe. - The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry. - I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. - Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
- Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all. - Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
- One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple. - He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all. - I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
- The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. - Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow. - Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects;
Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. - For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
- The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound. - And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”
- For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction. - As you do not know what is the way of the wind,
Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child,
So you do not know the works of God who makes everything. - For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
- The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.
- Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment.
