| Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Do not be afraid of them, for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good. | For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. | The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way. | The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. |

| For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? | For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? |
