- Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in the power of your hand to do so. - Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
Loving favor rather than silver and gold. - Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”
- Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.
- Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness. - Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
- Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad. - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
- Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
- O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.” - Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow. - For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness. - But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
- See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
- Good and upright is the Lord;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way. - Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
- He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? - But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
- A good man deals graciously and lends;
He will guide his affairs with discretion. - And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
