- Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
- Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor. - Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to act. - The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry. - You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you. - Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy. - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me. - Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow. - Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread. - Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
- As goods increase,
so do those who consume them.
And what benefit are they to the owners
except to feast their eyes on them? - May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.
- We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
- Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him! - Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
- Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun. - I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;
I was found by those who did not seek me.
To a nation that did not call on my name,
I said, ‘Here am I, here am I.’ - Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
- I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
- Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.Next verse!With image
