- That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.
- For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
- And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:
THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. - For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
- Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
- He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all. - For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.
- Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.
- Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
- But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
- Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”
- Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
- He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.
- He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him. - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
- A man’s pride will bring him low,
But the humble in spirit will retain honor. - And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
- The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
And he who begets a wise child will delight in him. - Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
- But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.
- For
“He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
- To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.
