- The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband.
- But because of cases of sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
- Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church, the body of which he is the Savior.
- He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor from the Lord. - House and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord. - And the Lord God made garments of skins for the man and for his wife, and clothed them.
- For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
- A capable wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels. - In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
- When a man is newly married, he shall not go out with the army or be charged with any related duty. He shall be free at home one year, to be happy with the wife whom he has married.
- But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
- You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
- But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
- He answered, “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called Woman,
for out of Man this one was taken.”
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. - Husbands, in the same way, show consideration for your wives in your life together, paying honor to the woman as the weaker sex, since they too are also heirs of the gracious gift of life—so that nothing may hinder your prayers.
- Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child.
- Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields, for my sake and for the sake of the good news, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this age—houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.”
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God. - Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing,
“To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might
forever and ever!” - The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
is riches and honor and life. - Depart from evil, and do good;
seek peace, and pursue it. - I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever. - Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
