  • Open your mouth, judge righteously,
    and serve justice to the poor and needy.
  • For you are my rock and my fortress,
    therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me.

  • But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.
  • He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
  • Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, perseverance; and in perseverance, godliness; and in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.

  • Yahweh makes poor and makes rich.
    He brings low, he also lifts up.
  • A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge;
    but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
  • You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice. You shall serve him, and cling to him.
  • For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
  • Even to old age I am he,
    and even to gray hairs I will carry you.
    I have made, and I will bear.
    Yes, I will carry, and will deliver.
  • Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.
  • For,
    “He who would love life
    and see good days,
    let him keep his tongue from evil
    and his lips from speaking deceit.
    Let him turn away from evil and do good.
    Let him seek peace and pursue it.”
  • He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
  • Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
  • Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal.
