- Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.

will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him. - So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. - Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
- The godly are showered with blessings;
the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions. - For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!
- For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.
- The commandments of the Lord are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving insight for living. - He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
- May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people.
- But consider the joy of those corrected by God!
Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. - For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
- And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”
- From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
- For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
- So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
- Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord.’
- Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,
“Praise God for the Son of David!
Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Praise God in highest heaven!” - May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- True humility and fear of the Lord
lead to riches, honor, and long life. - He loves whatever is just and good;
the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.
