Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.A perverse man sows strife, And a whisperer separates the best of friends.
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.Children’s children are the crown of old men, And the glory of children is their father.
Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool— how much worse lying lips to a ruler!Excellent speech is not becoming to a fool, Much less lying lips to a prince.

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.
What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar.What is desired in a man is kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar.
It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.

It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy, And afterward to reconsider his vows.
