- The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry. - From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
- Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
but righteousness delivers from death. - And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” - For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well. - Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
- He said, “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
- There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
- Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
- Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
- The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
is riches and honor and life. - Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
- Turn away from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it. - Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
- In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me! - Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
- But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.
- And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
- Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
- Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
- I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever. - But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
- To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
