- Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous.
His ears listen to their cry. - Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away,
but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. - A good name is more desirable than great riches,
and loving favor is better than silver and gold. - I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go.
I will counsel you with my eye on you. - Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all wrongs. - And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.

- I ate no pleasant food. No meat or wine came into my mouth. I didn’t anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.
- You who love Yahweh, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of his saints.
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. - He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
- One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
- Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil.
- In Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom. He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’
