- “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be enough room for.”
- Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
- No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.
- While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.
- Yet I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt;
and you shall acknowledge no god but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- In all hard work there is profit,
but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty. - For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily, and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.
- But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
- He said to them, “Don’t be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him!”
- For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.
- So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul.
If you have found it, then there will be a reward:
Your hope will not be cut off. - Where there is no counsel, plans fail;
but in a multitude of counselors they are established. - I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.
- Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!
- But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God.
- A man of many companions may be ruined,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you. - For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.
- Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
- She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.
- According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
