Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions.
The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’
But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
