Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. |
| When anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayer is detestable. | He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. |
| A fool is quick to show his anger, but a prudent man ignores an insult. | A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent. |

| The righteous is remembered with blessings, but the name of the wicked fades away. | The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot. |
| Above all, maintain the fervor of your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. | And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins. |

I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.” |
| Many are the plans in a human mind, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will prevail. | There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail. |
