| The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him. | The father of a good man will rejoice; he who begets a wise son will delight in him. |
| As you don’t know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child; even so you don’t know the work of God who does all. | Just as you do not know the path of the wind or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb, so you do not know the work of God, the Creator of all. |

Put me thus to the test, says the Lord of hosts, and see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down blessings upon you without measure. |

| A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. | A man may plan his own course, but the Lord makes his steps secure. |
| He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. | When anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayer is detestable. |
| The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot. | The righteous is remembered with blessings, but the name of the wicked fades away. |
| And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins. | Above all, maintain the fervor of your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. |
| Like water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man. | Just as water reflects one’s face, so does one human heart reflect another. |
