| My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. | My son, keep your father’s commandment, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching. |
| And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. | We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. |

| Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord’s anger. | Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh’s anger. |
| Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. | You shall diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you. |
