- Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. - How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you. - But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. - The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him. - I love you, Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. - Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. - Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
- We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
- For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does. - Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,
we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts. - The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. - And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
- But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. - Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.
