The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.The vine dries up; the fig tree languishes. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity.
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
