Sin (3/5)

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.Everyone who sins comes from the devil, for the devil has been a sinner from the very beginning. The Son of God appeared for this very purpose: to destroy the work of the devil.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent, but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent.
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.Come to your senses and sin no more. For some of you have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. But he was pierced for our offenses and crushed for our iniquity; the punishment that made us whole fell upon him, and by his bruises we have been healed.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.I treasure your word in my heart for fear that I may sin against you.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds, and I shall remember their sins no more.
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.Everyone who sins breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.Whoever observes the commandments will live, but the one who scorns them will die.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.Nor should you present any part of your body as an instrument for wickedness leading to sin. Rather, present yourselves to God as having been raised from death to life and the parts of your body to God as instruments for righteousness.
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die.
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. In other words, God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, and not holding people’s transgressions against them, and he committed to us the message of reconciliation.
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.
The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright, but destruction for evildoers.
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like a mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. This is the message that we have heard from him and that we declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him.
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin. Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, you should arm yourselves also with the same intention. For anyone who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin.
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. What god can compare with you, the God who takes away guilt and forgives the transgressions of the remnant of your people? You will not allow your anger to fester forever, for your delight is in bestowing mercy.
The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. The labors of the wicked man produce little profit, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. In Christ and through his blood we have redemption and the forgiveness of our sins. In accord with the riches of his grace.
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. Therefore, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us.
